An organic sweet red wine made from Mataró, or Mourvedre as it is known in South Africa. The grapes are left on the vine to overripen, and the harvest takes place before the grapes begin to dry. Unlike port, which is traditionally fortified with Brandy, the extracted skins of the grapes are distilled into a clear spirit which is used to arrest fermentation. This ancient method is reserved for only the best grapes, and results in a much creamier palate, with an abundance of perfectly balanced flavours. This extremely rare gem is so unique; to our knowledge it’s never been available before in Africa. Boasts many 5-Star Michelin restaurant listings throughout Europe, and was a firm favourite at the Spanish Embassy dinners we hosted in Pretoria and Cape Town in 2016.
