Woodward Ridge is the most comprehensive range under the Catchpole & Co label and almost entirely consists of wines commissioned to the “dream team” at The Winery of Good Hope. From old Helderberg bushvines the winemaker, Jacques De Klerk, has again exceeded himself in making lively and expressive Chenin totally unassisted by wood. The grapes were picked before the big Stellenbosch heats allowing for a natural crisp acidity with a fresh mineral finish. We share the production of this wine with The Winery of Good Hope who export it to the USA where it has made No.1 in Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Top 100 best buys, 3 years in a row.

Chef Craig Cormack says “Trout always works well with Chenin Blanc, and the Woodward Ridge was no exception. The wine balances the trout flavours with its acidity and the broth just adds to the freshness”. Yum.   Whilst this dish was created especially for the Catchpole & Co. Woodward Ridge Chenin Blanc, it makes a wonderful pairing with any of Frogitt & Vonkel’s Chenin’s.   We love: Such a simple dish to recreate at home, and the broth element just adds another dimension. A perfect summer dish!   Alternative pairings: We especially recommend trying it with Radford Dale ‘Renaissance’ or Land of Hope Reserve Chenin Blanc, too.   Catchpole & Co.
