Canevel means “tiny family cellar” or “a small corner of the winery where secrets are jealously guarded” in Venetian dialect – you choose your favourite! This beautiful winery is based in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene. It was founded in 1979 by the Caramel family and the estate is now managed by last-generation Carlo Caramel. Canevel counts on a fine collection of Prosecco Cru grapes that are scattered throughout the villages of Saccol, Vidor and Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene. They are one of the “Selected Estates of Europe” and we are the first and only to have the privilege of representing them in SA.
