The Winery of Good Hope is a “winery” as opposed to a farm in the truest sense. There’s vineyards bursting with quality fruit all around the property, but that’s not where the magic stops. The team of passionate “makers of wine”, lead by Burgundian trained Alex Dale, produce some of SA’s finest from as far apart as Elgin and the Swartland. Whilst Alex deliberately stays away from wine competitions; he’s not interested in making ‘show ponies’, the range of wines produced do garner seriously impressive Platter stars, with the 2016 edition awarding them 21 wines with 4 or more stars. An enviable achievement.
