Belle Rebelle Solitude Chenin Blanc 2021
“A concentrated Chenin Blanc with superb minerality and a flinty lingering finish.”
“The solitary wolf roams the herd like a true rebel, looking for the best to feast on.
Like a one-man wolf pack, bush vines stand alone in the dry summer months trying to hide from the extreme conditions.”
The limited production of grapes resulted in small berries with concentrated aromas and flavours. The grapes were hand-harvested from old bush vines in the Swartland region and fermented in 2nd fill French oak barrels for 9 months.
In the glass the wine is a pale straw colour with a bright golden tinge. Lime and peppery notes are evident on the nose with stone fruit and lightly wooded elegance on the palate.
This wine shows great complexity, texture and an abundance of flavour.
Pairs beautifully with spicy food.
