Bosman Family Vineyards Dolce Primitivo
“A wonderfully, sweet creation paying homage to the many Italian Prisoners of War.”
R360.00 per bottle (South Africa)
During WW2, many Italian Prisoners of War were stationed at the Cape, bringing with them skills and traditions we still admire today. Some of them stayed on the Wellington farm, but sadly one of them drowned in the dam. Winemaker, Corlea Fourie thought it would be fitting to use Italian Primitivo planted around the dam to commemorate the poignant history of these prisoners.
The grapes were picked and dried out for a few days before being transferred to oak barrels for 9 months. The wine is naturally sweet with concentrated aromas of stewed fruit and a beautifully refined finish.
