Farm: Frater Family Wines
“A Sangiovese harvested from Paarl exuding opulence, composure and velvety richness. A true beauty!”
A stately expression of this noble varietal produced from 18 year old vines. Winemaker, Robert Frater learnt the art of making Sangiovese 20 years ago in Tuscany.
The wine was fermented on the skins for 10 days then transferred to 1st fill French oak barrels where it matured for 12 months.
Only 5 rows of Sangiovese vines are grown on the estate producing a limited 4 barrels.
The wine is perfectly balanced with powerful tannins, good acidity and a delicious profile of cherry and plum.
