Gabrielskloof Five Arches Magnum

This ‘burster’ 4.5 Star Platter winner is the Reserve release of this farm’s famous Bordeaux Blend. Made up of 35% Cab Franc/ 31% Cab/ 22% Malbec/ 9% Petit Verdot and 3% Merlot it is faithful to classic Bordeaux blends of French origin. Selected fruit from sea-facing (thus lower yielding) vines is meticulously sorted and the very best placed into new French oak barriques (with a small amount of American and Hungarian, too, for flavour variety) for 12 months. The wine is then racked into second-fill French barrels for a further 10 months maturation, then bottled and aged for an additional 2 years in optimal conditions deep in the cellar.
