Hilton Vineyards Cartref Syrah 2019

Named after the soils in which the vineyards were grown – Cartref.

These soils are youthful on account of their limited rock weathering.

The grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted from vineyards located in the Elgin region.

This Syrah was fermented with indigenous yeast and aged for 14 months in older French oak barrels with zero addition of sulphur.

The wine is light to medium-bodied with a vibrant palate and a clean acidity.

The subtle tannins balance a mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste that allows the wine to age for up to 8 years.

No fining or filtration.  Can cellar until 2030
