The experts have all hailed 2009 as possibly the greatest Cape vintage ever, and we are privileged to have received a small amount of the Syrah 2009, held back for optimum ageing. This is 100% Syrah, made from an assemblage of three different Helderberg parcels that were chosen specifically for their distinctive soil types. The uniqueness of each soil type adds to the richness of the wine, and giving a layered complexity. The vineyards are farmed according to organic principles, and minimalist wine-making techniques are employed to retain as much terroir and fruit character as possible. Handmade, unfined and unfiltered; this is a silky smooth, rich and sumptuous wine that is exquisitely balanced. Extremely limited!
