Natte Valleij Dry Hanepoot 2015
This is a refreshing new spin on an old Cape classic – different, rare and totally delicious.
This is a fresh and delightful break from the usual dry whites readily available. Inspired by nostalgia, after an old Natte Valleij Hanepoot label dating from the 40’s, was found hidden in the loft of the cellars. An ideal 40 year-old block of Hanepoot grapes was discovered by the Milner brothers, and the rest is literally “history”. In days gone by Hanepoot was widely planted and the wines produced were dry, almost “Riesling” in style. We don’t know why those styles faded over time, but we’re delighted that Natte Valleij have resurrected this mode of Hanepoot.
