Natte Valleij Swartland Cinsault 2018
“A single vineyard Cinsault harvested from a forgotten patch of old bush vine Cinsault.”
Cinsault had been an early hero of the South African wine landscape, and Alex’s trips to France to learn hands-on how they do things there had fostered something of a love affair with the cultivar.
This Swartland Cinsault was harvested from vines that were planted in 1986.
The vineyard is situated on an east-facing slope which catches the early morning sun.
The wine was aged in concrete eggs for 12 months preserving a beautiful tension and length in the final result.
