Named as such because this wine is the complete ‘antithesis’ of the wealth of Robert Parker-styled wines. Vineyard-driven, not winemaker manipulated. Balanced and restrained. Age ability over immediacy. Classic and classy, not big and slutty.
It would seem the experts also agree. Nominated for 5 Platter Stars, it ultimately received a coveted 4.5 Stars. Tim Atkin rated the wine 92 points.
Naturally fermented, unfined, unfiltered, and from a single vineyard– a true representation of why many believe Shiraz to be the varietal most well-suited to the Helderberg.
