Radford Dale Black Rock 2014 MAGNUM
“Red Wine of the Year – Platter 2017. From old Swartland Bush Vines, this is a seriously seductive Rhone Style blend for the most demanding and inquisitive of premium red wine lovers.”
Carignon, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourverdre, Grenache and Viognier made in the famous Rhone style… a style that Radford Dale are renowned internationally for. The vines are growing on granite soils under the almost arid conditions of the Swartland. Rainfall is virtually non-existent, so these bush vines throw root structures down 12 metres deep. The resultant fruit is small, but packed full of flavour and finesse.
Hand harvested, hand sorted in the cellar to ensure only the finest examples of berries are used. All the grapes were co-fermented, to create a much more harmonious and seamless blend, and the entire fermentation process was completely natural.
Following the 5* 2013 vintage, the 2014 grapes were grown under ideal conditions, and everything from start to finish worked to perfection. The experts are already in agreement; the 2014 is a better vintage, and has raised the bar yet again with its epic drinkability. Again awarded a full 5 stars by Platter and Red Wine of the Year for their 2017 Guide. Stock will not last.
Presented in a beautiful wooden case.
*Lower alcohol than Swartland wines usually show.
