Description
A medium to full-bodied Merlot harvested from a single property in Stellenbosch on the foothills of the Simonsberg mountain. The grapes were picked early in the morning to retain freshness and fermented in stainless steel open-top fermenters for 10 days. The wine was transferred to older French oak barrels where it matured for 16 months. (2nd, 3rd and 4th fill) Intense notes of crushed mulberry, dried herbs and cocao exude from the glass. Juicy red fruits explode on the palate resulting in an elegantly complex, multi-layered wine. The finish is firm and savoury.
