Rosendal Reserve Aquitaine 2019
“A Cabernet Franc-led blend with a magenta hue and gorgeously supply tannins.”
This Bordeaux blend is named after the famed Eleanor of Aquitaine who was one of the most influential figures of the Middle Ages. Her marriage to the King of England opened and secured trade relations between Bordeaux and England, and subsequently the rest of the world.
The grapes were harvested from three sites in the Cape Winelands. (Stellenbosch, Banghoek Valley and Paarl)
Each site contributes to the individuality of the cultivar and the complexity of the final blend. All three cultivars were fermented in stainless steel and transferred to French oak barrels. (35% new and 65% 2nd fill)
Aromas of dried herbs are evident on the nose with plush fruit on the palate concluding in a long lasting finish.
Can cellar for up to 10 years from vintage
