Description
A dense red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz all harvested from the Constantia area. The cooler climate of this region helps preserve acidity in the grapes, which is a key element for crafting elegant, well-structured wines. All three cultivars were picked, fermented and matured separately, and blended before bottling. The grapes were fermented on the skins for 4 weeks before pressing. Maturation was done for 18 months in French oak barrels. (40% new) The palate is intense and complex with plush dark fruit notes and dustings of mocha. The Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and depth, while the Cabernet Franc contributes elegance and a lifted, aromatic profile. The addition of Shiraz lends a hint of spice and richness, rounding out the blend beautifully.
