Description
The Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes were sourced from two separate vineyards both located on South-facing slopes overlooking False Bay and Table Bay. Both varietals were fermented in older French oak barrels and blended after 6 months of maturation on the lees. The palate is incredibly textured with woody citrus characteristics and a beautiful waxiness. Expect flavours of baked apple, charamalised grapefruit and creme brulee. The acidity is soft and appealing, but keeps the wine finely balanced. The finish is full, long and clean. The winemakers at Saxenburg have paid unbridled care and attention in the aging and storing of this wine in idylic conditions. All of our private customers now have exclusive access to the Saxenburg Vinoteque range. 50% Sauvignon Blanc; 50% Semillon
