Waverley Hills Marselan 2021
“Be one of only a handful to own this organic beauty. The first and only Marselan planted in South Africa.”
R490.00 per bottle (South Africa)
Marselan is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, which was first created in the 1960’s in the South of France near the town of Marseillan.
This is the only Marselan planted in South Africa, after a 7 year project to import the first of these vines from France. The first experimental vines were planted back in 2016 as bush vines.
The wine spent 15 months in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. The tannins are soft and juicy on the palate with concentrated fruit flavours and pepper undertones.
In the glass, the wine is intense and dark with spicy notes of fynbos on the nose
