In 1970, Lyn and Dudley Marklew purchased the 45-hectare farm De Goede Sukses nestled in the prestigious Simonsberg terroir. With vision for quality, they replanted the vineyards with noble varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. In 2001, the next generation, Bill and Haidee Marklew took the reins, continuing the family’s commitment to traditional viticulture and passionate winemaking. Today, Marklew Family Wines produces award-winning wines that reflect the dedication and craftsmaship of both generations. All wines are expertly crafted by winemaker Dirk Tredoux, whose experience includes time at renowned estates such as Jordan, Vrede an Lust, D’Aria, Morgenhof and Amani.
