Description
“The Intrepid sheep ventures into the wolf pack, ready to show it’s up for battle. Trellis vines stand together like a flock of sheep in the beautiful Breedekloof Valley.” The grapes were hand-harvested from vineyards planted in the Southern part of the Breedekloof Valley back in 1985. The grapes were lightly crushed and pressed before maturing in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels for 9 months. The wine was kept on the lees for the duration of the barrel maturation. In the glass, the wine is pale straw in colour with a bright golden tinge. White pear and quince aromas come through on the nose with undertones of nuts and rich honeycomb on the palate. The palate is full and grippy which comes together into a crisp and long finish. Pairs beautifully with sushi and fruit based salads.
