Description
An elegantly rich MCC harvested from low-yielding vineyards situated in the heart of Swartland. The grapes were hand-harvested from intensely flavoured bunches early in the morning to preserve the acidity and freshness of the fruit. The Chardonnay and Roussanne grapes were barrel fermented, whilst the Viognier and Marsanne were fermented in stainless steel. The wine was left on the lees for 6 months. After the primary fermentation, the varietals were blended and transferred to bottle for the secondary fermentation which lasted 15 months. The final blend was laid down for 5 years before release. Top notes of honey, brioche and fresh pear come through on the nose. The palate is robust and creamy with a grippy finish that exudes freshness. Ready to drink now, but will continue to develop for another 3 years. 60% Chardonnay, 30% Roussanne, 5% Viognier, 5% Marsanne
