Description
Now 14 years old, this vintage is at the peak of it’s drinkability. Once harvested, the fruit was fermented in open top fermenters and removed from the skins 3 weeks after fermentation. The wine was matured for 14 months in 1st, 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. The wine has matured beautifully with loads of red berry aromas on the nose, supported by oak spice. The tannins have settled over time, making the palate soft, elegant and long. The winemakers at Saxenburg have paid unbridled care and attention in the aging and storing of this wine in idyllic conditions. All of our private customers now have exclusive access to the Saxenburg Vinoteque. No fining or filtration. 4.5 Stars – Platter Guide
