Every few years JP Winshaw selects a few barrels to bottle separately to create the Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. Only four of the best barrels were selected and blended to make up this exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were hand-harvested and naturally fermented from a single trellised vineyard in Stellenbosch. The wine spent 20 months in 25% new French oak barrels and the remainder comprised of 2nd and 3rd fill. Each barrel that was selected compliments each other and perfectly expresses the characteristics of a juicy Cabernet Sauvignon. A medium to full-bodied wine with soft tannins and rich, intense flavours on the palate. Beautifully balanced wine with hints of dark berries and a touch of vanilla. Drinking superbly at the moment, but can still mature for another 10 years.
