Description
“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. In times like this we must appreciate what we have because sometimes the best is closer to home.” This gem of a vineyard was recently re-discovered on the family estate. By updating vineyard practices and winemaking techniques this unique wine was born. The grapes were harvested by hand and fermented in barrel for approximately 15 days. After fermentation, the wine was matured in a combination of Hungarian and French oak barrels for 9 months. The wine was kept on the lees for the duration of the barrel maturation. The nose exudes topical aromas of honeysuckle and melon. The palate is loaded with stone fruit, marzipan and almond characteristics surrounded with a waxy creaminess. Pairs beautifully with heavier fish and creamy dishes.
