Description
A unique blend of Malbec, Mourvedre, Roobernet and Sangiovese produced from 16 year old vines. Winemaker, Robert Frater learnt the art of making Sangiovese 20 years ago in Chianti Classico – the cellar workers referred to him as ‘Don Roberto’ The wine was fermented on the skins for 10 days then transferred to French and Serbian oak barrels where it matured for 12 months. All varietals were fermented and aged separately before being blended and bottled. Complex aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and sweet spice exude from the glass. The palate is plush and juicy with a black fruit core and seamless tannins.
Can age for a further 8 years.
