Description
The Rascal’s late father came from Devon, a richly coloured country along the Northen coast of England. Exposed rocks from the Paleozoic era were found to contain an array of fish fossils, hence the Devonian era became known as the ‘Age of Fishes’. 100% Chenin Blanc sourced from 40 year old bush vines located in the Swartland region. The grapes were harvested in three different sessions to provide a good spread of flavour and acidity. The wine was racked into older French oak barrels where natural fermentation took place. The wine displays a melange of aromas on the nose such as oatmeal and honey. The palate is soft on the entry with a creamy full texture. The finish is slightly nutty with a hint of minerality
