Description
Now 30 years old, this vintage is at the peak of it’s drinkability. The fruit was harvested at optimum ripeness from the best part of the vineyard. The wine was matured for 13 months in predominantly 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. Beautifully concentrated fruit on the nose – expect a delicate combination of plums and red cherries. Savoury notes develop into green pepper characteristics on the palate. The wine is beautifully balanced with well-integrated tannins. The winemakers at Saxenburg have paid unbridled care and attention in the aging and storing of this wine in idyllic conditions. All of our private customers now have exclusive access to the Saxenburg Vinoteque. No fining or filtration. Extra care must be taken when opening older vintages. The cork is fragile.
