Description
In 2012 winemaker, Salóme was enjoying a fine Chilean Carménère and needless to say, it was love at first sip. This led to the planting of a Carménère vineyard two years later. This is, as far as they can ascertain – the first single vineyard of Carménère in South Africa. The wine spent a total of 12 months in 1st and 2nd fill French oak barrels giving it a beautiful deep ruby red colour and cigar box aftertaste. Still young for a Carménère, but already drinking superbly.
